The Fame of San Pedro–San Pedro Fish Market

1150 S Harbor Blvd, San Pedro, CA 90731 | More Information: San Pedro Fish Market

Eating at the San Pedro fish market is a fond memory from my childhood. We didn’t do it often–which made it even more worth it. I loved picking out our fish watching it being seasoned and cooked. You can opt to have it fried or barbecued, but we always chose barbecue.

Founded in 1956 and family owned and operated for four generations, the San Pedro Fish Market has expanded to four locations along the waterfront from San Pedro to Seal Beach.

Since my childhood, the fame and recognition of the San Pedro Fish Market. Many other people love it too! The key is to get there early. The fish markets opens at 11am on weekdays and 9am on weekends. Show up early, get in line before opening, to get your choice of seafood. In addition to fish, we chose from corn, crab, shrimp, octopus (pulpo), onions, and peppers to go along with. There’s outdoor seating overlooking the water and an horchata (+other drinks) shop as well. Now days, you can’t bring any outside food or beverage, but I fondly look back on the days we’d pack our rice and cucumbers to go with our fish. Overall, I’m happy that I got to share this memory with Jordan, a man who doesn’t like touching raw meat, but even he admitted, it was delicious!
