Vietnamese Cold Brew
My mom used to take my brother, sister and I to Little Saigon, in Garden Grove, Calif., when we were kids. We’d have Pho at my grandmother’s favorite place and then head over to the bakery to see their assortments of spring rolls, sesame buns and bánh mí. It was one place where we were allowed to get anything we wanted. The lines were always long, but we loved picking out our favorite things–like a treasure hunt. I’m not usually a coffee drinker, but my mom always got the “coffee drink” that after college, I realized was cold brew all along. I’d always try her drink and sometimes get one myself. These days, I’m not able to travel home as often, but, I’ve learned to make Vietnamese Cold Brew on my own so I have a taste of childhood wherever I am.
