The Wilds | Muskingum County, OH

It was on this beautiful overcast day, just after the rain, that we went horseback riding for the first time. We drove over 2 hours, from Columbus, through mountain terrain, before we arrived at The Wilds. This Wildlife Conservation, sponsored by Jack Hanna and his wife, Suzi, is over 10,000 acres of transformed mining land, which we rode over and toured. Jordan’s horse, Sly, was playful and mine, I forgot the name, kept stopping to eat grass. We were nervous and a bit uneasy at the start, but soon began to relax and enjoy the beauty around us.

The Wilds offers many amazing opportunities with well-intent to educate, rehabilitate and grow. If you’re in the area, check it out!
